SBTCA National Specialty Wilmington OH – Saturday July 3rd
Judge: Kimberly Washington (Chavier – USA)
Best of Breed – “When you have been in the breed long enough you learn that some Staffords age like a fine bottle of wine. Today this boy was ripe for the picking in my eye. A black brindle male coming in nice hard fit condition with a pleasing well cheeked head piece with a dark eye that gave an intense expression. Lovely, neat rose ears set well, correct scissors bite with good length of muzzle. Good arch of neck that flowed into well placed shoulders, strong front up on toes with nice feet. Good depth of brisket with well sprung ribs, level topline leading into good tail set and strong well angulated rear. Moved exceptionally well and handled perfectly. It was a pleasure to award this Dog Best of Breed and Best of Breed Owner Handled!”

SBTCA Specialty Show South Jordan UT – Sunday October 11th

Award of Merit – “Typey dog with good breed qualities. Particularly handsome front on. Good male head, nicely square front. Good bone. Moved parallel and with good reach and drive.”

SBTCA Specialty Show South Jordan UT – Saturday October 10th
Judge: Jason Nicolai (Homebrewed USA)
Best of Breed – “A stunningly well balanced Stafford just teaming with breed type. The headpiece is ideal. Excellent proportions with typical fluting down the center created by well-developed temporal muscles which are flanked by neat, thin well placed rose ears. Distinct stop, proper length of muzzle, tight, clean lips, perfect bite, black nose with large nostrils. Neck is muscular, slightly arching and gradually widens into the shoulders exactly as called for. Shoulders are well laid back with a reciprocating length of upper arm also laid back to create a proper forechest. Topline is level when he is standing 4 square. Brisket drops to just below the elbow. The undercarriage silhouette creates an athletic outline as it returns to a good tuck at the rather light loin. From above the classic hour glass shape is created with the well sprung ribs, the light loin and then the muscular hindquarters which are well muscled with very apparent second thigh and correct bend of stifle. Good tail set and carriage on the move. Shown in great condition. Well-muscled without being stripped down. Exhibited quite lively Stafford attitude in the ring, but his virtues could not hide behind his naughty antics as much as he tried. Once settled in he moved with drive, purpose and economy of effort. Overall an ideal blend of bull and terrier with nothing overdone nor underdone about this excellent example of the breed. Today’s BOB”

Best of Opposite Sex – ” Black dog, shown in fit hard condition. He fits the standard accurately in every way. Cleanest of heads, dark round eye, keen expression, mesmerizing stare which I could not ignore. Correct muzzle and skull proportions, excellent ear shape and placement. Large teeth with correct scissor bite. Beautiful in profile and square in front. Stood well up on his toes throughout and showing correct daylight. Correct croup angle with low set tail and correct carriage. Moved effortlessly around the ring reaching out well and with propelling drive. He certainly gave it his all for his handler and together they formed an exceptional partnership. Personally, I will love to see another kilogram on him, I think a bit more fill will make him stand out even more. 2017 National Specialty Weekend
Judge: Shaun Stone (Ashbull – United Kingdom)

Best of Breed – “Dog of immense quality that catches the eye immediately. Nothing overdone yet nothing underdone, just a really class exhibit that oozes breed type. Instantly you see this dog’s head is of good proportions and strength as well as being nice and clean with a good underjaw, distinct stop, lovely dark eyes and well set ears which he uses to enhance his attractive expression. As I went over him I like him even more, his strong neck flowed into his well laid back shoulders which showed no signs looseness. His Front is nice and square with good width and depth of brisket, ample bone for size of dog and shows neat feet and up on pasterns. His body shape was pleasing to the eye from all angles, his body is compacted and well defined with well sprung rib and tight coat, stifle well bent, rear hindquarters where nice and firm to touch with hocks well let down. He moved around the ring with ease and condition was spot on. I think there is more to come from this dog and would love to see him again, surely will win more major awards. Would have this dog back home in UK anytime, first class exhibit and was pleased to award him Best of Breed.”
